1. Where did you buy all this hardware?

Most hardware components you can buy online.
We also bought some secondhand parts. Those you can find in forums online.
But we build many parts by our self.
Good sites:
CPFlight (MCP / EFIS / Pedestal) http://www.cpflight.com/
ACE (Yokes) http://www.737yoke.com/products.php
Cockpitsonic (Overheadpanel) http://cockpitsonic.org/
FI Gauges (Standby-Gauges) http://www.flightillusion.com/
Leo Bodnar I/0 Cards http://www.leobodnar.com/
Phidgets LED-Card http://www.phidgets.com/

2. How much does it cost to build this Cockpit?

Well we didn`t keep track. We bought a lot and resale it again. We upgraded slowly.
Many parts are self build with materials you can buy in a "Home Depot" store.
Software does cost a lot too. Specially "Project Magenta".
But I think if we have to make a copy of this cockpit maybe around 20`000$. (No guarantee!)

3. How long does it take to build it?

We started in 2009 and still not finishes. But several hundreds of ours. Maybe we spend thousand`s hours to build and test it.

3. What Software do you use?

The Main Software is "Prepar3d" it`s a upgraded "Microsoft Flight Simulator". They release continues updates and supports DX11 Support. Many scenery addons with realistic textures and airports are needed too.
For the Instruments we use "Project Magenta" .

4. What is the visual setup? (180° Curved Screen)

-We use two BENQ W1080ST 1920X1080p (FullHD) Short throw projector.
-One "Matrox TripleHead2Go Digital SE External Adapter" to connect the PC to the two Projectors.
- We use "Immersive Display PRO" to correct the image on the curved screen.
- 180° Visual curved screen 500 x 160cm selfbuilded
-Resulution: 3840X1080p

5. Can you build one for me? Can I buy it?

The short answer is no.
It takes to much time. We don`t have time for this. Many parts are handmade.
And if you wan`t to buy this one, you need to know every wire. It`s not just one single PC.
There are 5 Computers, and sometimes there are issues with the Software, so its gets complicated. Sometimes we search errors for hours...

6. Why did you build it?

I was fascinated about about airplanes since I was a child.
Later i flew several years small airplanes like cessnas.
Then I started with Microsoft Flight Simulator back in the late 80`s on the computer.
Already around the year 2000 I had in mind to build a homecockpit.  But back then it was (almost) impossible with the technology.
In 2009 there where more and more parts available.
So it`s a hobby.

7. I have a question, how can I contact you?

We happy to help you out. But we get everyday several emails.
Please read carefully our blog, or Google it before.
We try to respond to every one, but we have limited time.
The Email address you can find on the main page.
